The Pike County School System believes that in-person instruction is always the best option. However, due to the pandemic, we are offering a virtual option. The Pike County Virtual Academy K-8 is an online learning option for those students in grades K-8 who wish to continue their education full-time through an online learning environment. This academy will provide an option for those students who seek a virtual environment rather than in-person instruction.
The Pike County Virtual Academy K-8 will provide access to course content and interaction using the Edgenuity software. The academy will provide a learning model that reflects the District’s commitment to providing students with high-quality instructional experiences through an online platform that meets the needs of students and their families during these uncertain times.
Students enrolled in the Pike County Virtual Academy K-8 may participate in extra-curricular activities and programs offered by their home school.
ABOUT THE PIKE COUNTY VIRTUAL ACADEMY K-8
It takes a lot of self-motivation for students to direct their learning in a virtual environment. You will be using robust online texts and curricula, partnered with instruction from Edgenuity. Utilizing the virtual academy we can continue to serve our families during the COVID pandemic.
