Mrs. Wanda Farist

Hi, my name is Wanda Farist. I live in Tate, Georgia with my husband, Duane, and our two daughters, Courtney and Brooke. Courtney is studying Pre-Veterinary Medicine and Brooke is a freshman in college. Duane and I have been married 27 years.

As a small child I attended Tate Elementary School and dreamed of becoming a teacher as I grew up. I often played school with my dolls, stuffed animals or any neighborhood children that wanted to play with me. It was not until I started substituting that I realized that I truly wanted to be a teacher. I attended Reinhardt College and Brenau University full time while working full time to achieve this goal. In 1996, my dream came true.

As a teacher, I was fortunate to begin my career at Tate Elementary School where I once attended as a small child. I was thrilled to be able to give back to the community that gave me so much. As I began teaching, I taught fifth grade for two years and was moved to third grade. I taught third grade for thirteen years. Now I am experiencing the wonderful life as a second grade teacher. This year will mark the beginning of my 28th year in the classroom. I look forward to this school year and many more enjoyable years at Tate Elementary!
