Accelerated Reader (A.R.) Program
Students in grades 1st - 4th are encouraged to take part in our A.R. Program. Designed to celebrate reading for pleasure, A.R. is a computer-based program which helps monitor independent reading.
- Students earn a hole punch for each 100% on an A.R. quiz. After ten 100% quizzes, they get a token to spend in the token tower.
- Each quarter, students can earn a backpack pin to celebrate working toward their personal reading goal. Pins are awarded at 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% of their goal as encouragement.
About Mrs. Hardison. . .
My husband, Barry, and I are proud to call Pickens County our home. Our daughter, Hannah, (12th grade) and our son, Reagan (9th grade) both attend Pickens HIgh School. As a family, we are active in our church, enjoy running, and like to visit the beach as often as possible. Of course, my favorite pastime is reading a good book!
Being a part of the inaugural teaching staff at Hill City Elementary has been my honor. Since its opening, I have taught grades first through fourth. In 2015, I became the Media Specialist at Hill City and I am THRILLED to serve in that position again this school year.
