Dear SDPC Families,
We are grateful for the strong partnership between our schools and the families and community members who volunteer their time to support our students and staff. As we begin a new school year, we want to make you aware of important updates to the process for becoming an approved volunteer in the School District of Pickens County.
Volunteer Training Process for the 2025–26 School Year
To ensure the safety and well-being of all students, all volunteers must complete the district's volunteer training process each school year, even if they have volunteered in the past. This year, volunteers have the option to complete the training online or in-person. The updated process includes the following five steps:
Watch the “Volunteering in SDPC” training video
Volunteering in SDPC Training Video
Review the “Volunteering in SDPC” informational pamphlet
Volunteering in SDPC Pamphlet
Review the safety one-pagers on Blood Borne Pathogens and Sexual Harassment
Blood Borne Pathogens Safety for School Volunteers
Sexual Harassment Prevention for School Volunteers
Complete the Raptor volunteer application and background check
All volunteers must submit an online application through the Raptor system.
Volunteers interested in serving as chaperones or working one-on-one with students must select and pay for the $32 background check during the application process.
Reminder: Background checks are valid for three years.
Access the application using this link: Raptor Application Link
Submit the Volunteer Orientation Certification Google Form
This form verifies that you have completed all required training components.
