I am a theoretical physicist working at the interface of quantum optics and quantum technologies. Broadly, my research interests are in quantum sensing and quantum simulation. My current interests include the preparation and characterization of quantum many-body states for quantum metrology, designing hardware protocols for analogue quantum simulation, and understanding collective effects in quantum many-body systems, especially in open quantum systems. I place particular emphasis on the experimental relevance of my research projects.
I did my B.Tech in Engineering Physics from IIT Madras (2014) and my MS (2017) and PhD (2020) in Physics from the University of Colorado Boulder. I worked as a postdoc in the Institute of Quantum Optics and Quantum Information (IQOQI) in Innsbruck, Austria from 2020 to 2022. Subsequently, I was a CV Raman Postdoctoral Fellow in the Indian Institute of Science Bangalore. I joined IIT Madras as an Assistant Professor in July 2024.
