Parents as Teachers Vision
All children will learn, grow and develop to realize their full potential.
Parents as Teachers Mission
Parents as Teachers promotes the optimal early development, learning and healthof children by supporting and engaging their parents and caregivers.
About Our Program
Parents as Teachers (PAT) builds strong communities with thriving families. By pairing parents and guardians with certified educators, we help foster the learning and development of children starting at birth with fun and educational activities that help children achieve appropriate and individualized developmental milestones while also offering support and advice for both new and experienced parents and guardians alike.
PAT offers personal visits for your family, group meetings with activities for parents and children, yearly developmental screenings, and a referral network for special services, as needed.
It is designed to help you (your child’s first and most influential teacher) be able to help your child learn, grow and develop to realize his/her full potential.

What we offer
Full Services: Personalized home visits by a certified Parent Educator, specially trained in child development and eager to help you give your child a head start! Parents work with their educator to set and reach goals for their child and family, discuss a variety ofchild development and parenting topics, and share a parent-child activity chosen especially for their family. Partial Services: We understand life gets busy. Partial services are for families who want to take advantage of annual developmental screenings & group connection events only. Development Screenings: For families who want to have their child screened annually to see how they are developing. Developmental screenings offer parents a quick and effective way to look at how their child is learning and growing in the areas of health, vision, hearing, communication, physical development, problem solving and social/emotional development. Screenings are also very highly recommended prior to starting Kindergarten.
Group Connections: Group meetings provide you and your child with parent/child activities where you can join with other parents as you discover more about your child's development. Our group meetings are geared towards families with infants to five years of age (pre-kindergarten). Some of our popular past group connection events have included Story Hours, Messy Night, Block Night, Pumpkin Patch fun, and Christmas with Santa.
