Week 13: Communicating with Faculty pt. 2
The semester is moving quickly, and it’s the perfect time to reflect on your progress. How are your grades looking? Even if you’re not where you want to be, there’s still time to make a change and finish strong. Let’s talk about strategies to assess your grades, communicate with faculty, and stay on track.
Take a moment to review your grades on Canvas.
Are you meeting your expectations? If not, identify the areas where you need improvement.
Use the "What-If Score" tool in Canvas to figure out what scores you need on remaining assignments to reach your goal:
Go to GRADES in Canvas.
Click the “-” next to any assignment.
Type in a hypothetical score and see how it changes your overall grade.
Pro Tip: If you need help using this tool or creating a plan, connect with your SSS—they’re here to help you succeed!
Your instructor is one of your best resources for improving your grade. Schedule time to meet with them and ask questions like:
What specific steps can I take to improve my grade?
Are there opportunities for extra credit?
Can I get clarification on past assignments or upcoming deadlines?
