The Race to Save Lives/Walk is hosted this year on Saturday, October 11th at Howard Park. This program is dedicated to suicide prevention and awareness. Student volunteers are asked to put out photo signs and draw a heart message on the sidewalk before the event. T-shirts are provided. Please fill in the link below to sign-up. Note: The sign-up closes September 19th in order to finalize the t-shirt order.

Horizon Elementary's Trunk or Treat event is set for Saturday, October 11th from 12-1pm. They are in need of help running games and stations such as temporary tattoos for the kids. Sign up below if available!

Please come support the Girls Soccer team by running concessions throughout October! Up to four members needed per shift.
10/7 to 12/16- Practical Resale for Center for the Homeless
Volunteer with us at Practical Resale to assist the Center for the Homeless! The Center for the Homeless is the South Bend area's largest residential facility for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. Practical Resale helps fund their critical services for the homeless and ensure that their guests have access to essential items during their time with them.

10/19- HofH Halloween Fun Run
Help run sign-ups, distribute race bibs, work prize stands, and run water stations for Harbor of Hope's Halloween fun run!

10/25-- Feed The Hungry
Join us to make sack lunches for homeless shelters! The event is scheduled to start at 9 am and run until approximately 12 pm, but it may conclude earlier depending on how quickly we complete all the lunches. There will be shirts provided that students must wear while volunteering.
10/22-- Harbor of Hope Hygiene Drive
For our October meeting, we have partnered up with Harbor of Hope to host a hygiene drive! At this meeting we will have boxes at the CPA entrance, where we encourage you to bring the following items *unused* to contribute to this drive: soap & body wash, shampoo & conditioner, toothbrushes & toothpaste, deodorant, lotion, lip balm, etc. Please view the attached file for the items requested list!
Each item/pack will count for 1 inside hour, MAX of 3 inside hours per person.
10/30-- Girls' Wrestling Concessions
A concession stand opportunity for girls' wrestling on Thursday, October 30 was added to the Discovery Concessions Key Club 25-26 sheet. 3 volunteers are needed for this event!
11/1- The ENL department is currently preparing for our annual Community Connections Fair on Saturday, November 1st from 10AM-1PM.
11/1-- South Bend Fire Department Smoke Alarm Canvas
The South Bend Fire Department reached out to volunteers for their smoke alarm canvas on Saturday November 1st, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. This is an amazing opportunity to work one on one with the firefighters and learn how the fire department is much more than just an emergency response to our community!

11/1-- Dia de Muertos Family Festival
The Dia de Muertos Family Festival is on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at St. Casimir (1302 W Dunham St. South Bend, IN 46619).
NOTE: If you are 16-18 years old, a parent must register/volunteer with you in order for you to participate. Volunteer tasks for this opportunity will include: set-up, ushering partners/community members, and clean-up throughout the times of the festival.
The following shifts are available:
Shift 1: 9am-12pm
Shift 2: 12pm - 2pm
Shift 3: 2pm-4pm
Shift 4: 4pm - 6pm
As always, you are more than welcome to sign up for multiple shifts if your schedule allows.

11/7 and 11/8-- Queen of Peace Holiday Bazaar
The Queen of Peace Bazaar Committee is organizing their upcoming holiday bazaar, and would love help on Friday, November 7th beginning at 3:30pm and for the event itself, running from 9am-3pm on Saturday, November 8th.

11/13-- Walt Disney Math/Literacy Night
Walt Disney is having their annual Math and Literacy Night on November 13th from 6-7:30pm and are looking for some extra help! They are having a carnival theme this year and will need help with the games, as well as other activities that will be available for families that night. Please arrive no later than 5:45 pm to help set up!
11/22-- Suicide Survivors Event
The Suicide Prevention Center invites Survivors ages 16 and up to join others around the world who have lost a loved one to suicide. We gather to share stories, find comfort, and gain insight into healing.

12/6 Salvation Army Bell Ringing
We have now opened up this Saturday's Salvation Army Bell Ringing from a Seniors only sign-up, to every grade! This opportunity is split in 2 hour shifts from 10 am to 8 pm. Please sign up if available, these hours can count towards inside OR outside Key Club hours.
12/12 Harbor of Hope's Holiday Card-Making Night at the Family Justice Center
Next week, Harbor of Hope is hosting a Holiday Card-Making Night at the Family Justice Center. All cards created will be included in necessity kits and distributed to survivors of domestic violence in South Bend. The event will take place on Friday, December 12, from 4:15PM to 6:30PM. Sign up here!
12/5-12/12 Toys for Tots Drive
We have partnered with Toys for Tots to run a Toy drive from Friday, December 5th to December 12th. We are looking for new, unwrapped toys suitable for children of all ages. We are collecting these items in room 240, outside the guidance office, and the math/science office. Each item counts as one inside OR outside hour, maximum two hours.
-12/12 Kingsmen Against Cancer Hat and Sock Drive
KAC is hosting a hat and sock drive until December 12th to donate to Memorial Hospital. The drop off point for donations is in room 130 (Mrs. Wachs' room) by door K, each item is 1 inside hour, maximum 2 hours.
-12/19 RMHC Drive
RMHC is hosting a drive for toy/gift donations (suitable for infants-teenagers), hats, gloves, and socks. Each toy counts as 1 inside hour, and every 2 clothing items contribute to 1 inside hour as well.
Join our local Kiwanis members to make tie blankets to donate.
Event lasts from 5-7 PM, it's a great way to get last minute hours for seniors too!
Spring concession stand sign-ups are now available.

The Salvation Army Bell Ringers
The Salvation Army Kroc Center is preparing for the holiday season and are seeking passionate volunteers to help make it a success! There are shifts available for individuals, small groups, and larger groups to ring bells during November and December (Monday – Saturday), with various shifts and locations available between 10am and 8pm.

Key Club is an international student-led organization that provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character and develop leadership.
Our chapter is a great way to connect with the community through leadership and service. Key Club is great for developing relationships within Penn High School and our local community.
