Henry C. Lea School Student Council

• Student Council is an opportunity for Lea students in grades 3-8 to serve their school by voicing their opinions, advocating for change, and contributing their time and effort to improve the school.

• There are 4 different types of service that Student Council members engage in: 

  1. 1. Advising school administration on school policies, practices, and programs

     2. Acting as student ambassadors on the School Advisory Council and at public events

     3. Facilitating programs, events, and fundraising efforts for the benefit of students and the wider school community

     4. Service learning

• Student Council is made up of positions or "offices" which students serve in for a term of no longer than one academic year:

  1. 1. President

     2. Vice President

     3. Secretary

     4. Treasurer

     5. Homeroom representatives from each class in 3rd - 8th grade

• The Student Council application process is open to Lea students in grades 3rd–8th!

• Any student in the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, or 8th grade who wants to run for Student Council office must complete each of the 3 required steps before the application deadline of November 8, 2024 to get their name on the election ballot for Student Council elections to be held during the week of December 2-6, 2024
