SEPTA Trolley Accident in Delaware County

In the early morning on Thursday, September 25, 2025, a wire came down overhead on a SEPTA trolley in Delaware County. This incident reportedly left several civilians injured and 3 were rushed to the local hospital.
The SEPTA trolley was filled with around 10 people when the incident happened. According to Kelly Greene from SEPTA, the wire came down on route 101, near the Scenic Road Station in Springfield Township. The 3 people who were injured were transported to the local hospital, Lankenau Hospital. No additional reports on the victim’s injury were provided. Passengers who were stranded because of the incident were shuttled by a bus from Woodland Avenue Station to Drexel Hill Junction Station.
One of the students from Furness High School was briefly interviewed and one question was asked that goes “How do you think this incident can be prevented in the future?” which they answered with, “Better safety protocols and check for faulty wires every now and then.”
