Over the past few years, we’ve seen a major increase in the number of Indonesian students enrolling in Furness and U.S. public schools overall. This growth has sparked curiosity about the reasons for the decision to immigrate to the United States.

This school year, Furness holds a total of 67 enrolled Indonesian students, with 19 new students joining the school. This represents a significant increase of almost 40% compared to the previous school year, which had a total of 48 enrolled Indonesian students.

A survey was conducted to find out what motivated these students to move to the United States. It showed how most of them were convinced by their parents to move, all of them believing that they would have more opportunities and easier access to education.

These students were further interviewed and stated that they thought finding employment was statistically easier in America than in Indonesia, which is also another major factor in why they agreed to move. They also cited the fact that public schools in America were free, which would significantly reduce their financial burden.

The survey results suggest that the quality of life in the US is a crucial factor in the decision of Indonesian families to immigrate to the United States. With far easier and less financially detrimental access to education and amenities, many foreign families, especially those who have children, tend to immigrate to this country for a more comfortable living. Knowing the privileges and economy the United States offers, they make the country an attractive destination for foreign immigrants.

As time goes on, Indonesian immigration to the United States will only continue to increase, bringing a more diverse and vibrant population to America, as they pursue better opportunities and a higher standard of life. With the amount of benefits that America holds, it’s perfect for those seeking to achieve their dreams.
