Is College A Business?

Did you ever think about College being a business rather than just an education place?

We’ve always thought about college as a way to improve in society. It’s a way that’ll may help us earn more money. What does college get from all of this? The money that they pay for videos or articles about their college is to get your attention. We may think that they are doing this because the government pays them to or they want more educated people worldwide. This is not the main point for most universities. Let’s review more about colleges as a potential business.

Public school is known to be an easier way to get your major degree as it has a lower price range. They are mostly funded by the public or government. These types of universities are typically larger compared to private colleges. There are more opportunities to explore and decide what you want to do in life as they have a larger selection of majors than private colleges. Students wouldn’t have to worry too much about the cost of attending such universities. In fact, the government founded these colleges so that they support them economically. With what these public colleges can offer is a lower tuition charge. Additionally, the research opportunities are something that makes a big difference between public and private colleges. Public colleges have more opportunities for their research as they can offer more facilities and labs. The main point of public colleges is to serve their communities by providing the necessary resources to the students. With the support of the government, public schools don’t care too much about the money for tuition. Although they will want back the financial support you received in the future, back to the government.

On the other hand, private schools. Why are they so well known? Why do they exist? What makes them different? Private schools are colleges that often operate as an educational, nonprofit organization. In other words the owner is not the government so, in some of them the money is just collected and in others the money is used for the school. Some of this is colleges may have religious affiliations. These colleges are smaller than public schools with a limited number of classes. Private colleges usually have a smaller selection of majors than public colleges but may offer more specialized academic programs. With this they focus more on this major than the surroundings of this major. Private colleges don’t offer many tools for your research, they just don’t have the ability to provide vast amounts of facilities and labs for your research as public schools. Something that highlights the most private colleges is the cost of tuition. Since they are not directly supported by the government but from donations and student payments, the cost for tuition is higher than public colleges. The opportunities for scholarships in these places are not as big as public colleges but tuition is “better” than public colleges? We may not have a clear idea on what private colleges are looking for but this is for sure; your skills or GPA is not as important as the donations or tuition fees you pay.

It’s all the same for whatever school you attend. Some colleges are not looking directly for your money but the money you generate with your jobs. Some colleges may not have other options than to show that they need your money for their survival. Even with the time, with your taxes or your donations as old students and even the fees you paid as a student, everything comes up to the benefit of college in the long term. They are improving education in the world and we are helping them to survive with our experience. College, money, and jobs go side by side supporting each other for their survival. Benefiting each other like a business in the shadows that became a cycle over time that we don’t notice.
