Eye Transplant

Eye Transplant 

I was sleeping in the waiting room of a hospital when suddenly my doctor woke me up. 

“Sorry for disturbing your sleep”

“It’s fine,” I said

“Anyway” 

With a wide smile on his face and an excited tone, he said,

“I have good news for you”

“What is it?” I asked

“I FOUND THE PERFECT EYE FOR YOU!”

My eyes widen, 

“NO WAY!”

Tears start to fill my eyes, 

“HAHAHAHA, FINALLYYY !!” I jumped and hugged my doctor. 

If you don’t know, I was in a bad bad accident 3 years ago that caused my left cornea to bulge out. 

I’ve long waited for my eye transplant so I could see better again and have ‘normal eyes.’

Now after waiting for 3 years, my doctor called me and told me that 

He has found a perfect eye transplant for me. 

I asked him who was so kind as to give their eye to me, 

But he told me the person asked for her identity to be kept confidential. 

“Well, at least I know that it’s a girl,” I said to myself. 

After I had my eye transplant, I was overjoyed and went home. 

 I took some pics of my ‘new eye.’

I didn’t know what was going on but after I got my eye done, 

I experienced several disturbances,

They were a little difficult for me to explain logically. 

For instance, the day after I got my eye transplant,

I found a dead mouse in front of my house.

The next day my house smelled like a carrion. 

The other day, my backyard was full of trash and some…blood.

Scary, I know, but wanna know something even scarier? 

I started to have dreams about a girl who tried to take my eyes out.  

All those weird things keep on happening for 2 weeks,

Until one night a shabby and dirty girl whom I never saw before broke into my house and started to climb up on me, attacking me brutally, and venting all her anger towards me.

I didn’t know who this girl was, and I couldn’t see her face because it was covered with hair. 

I was so scared and confused when she started to pull my hair and our eyes met each other. 

It was empty, 

Her eyes,

It wasn’t there,

SHE HAS NO EYES ! 

I screamed due to that very terrible appearance. 

And when I screamed, in a hoarse voice but with soft intonation, she said “you know..you shouldn’t take something that wasn’t yours, especially without their permission.” 

Along with that, with no warning, I could feel that her hand was on my eyes and suddenly I lost the left side of my eyesight. 

“What happened to my eye?”

“Why can't I see anything with the left side of my eye?”

“Was it because she hit me on my eye too hard?”

“But why does my eye feel so…empty?”

She took it out, I knew she did. 

But I can’t accept the truth,

So with a trembling hand, slowly I started to touch my left eye while that girl was still hanging on my back” 

“Wait, hold on”

“Why is it cold?”

“I can’t feel it”

“Where is it?” 

“No….No..NO NO NO NO NO NO NOOOOOO!!” 

“WHERE DID MY EYE GO?”

I looked up to her furiously, who was sitting on my shoulder. 

“YOU!”

“YOU TOOK MY EYE FROM ME!”

“GIVE IT BACK TO ME!!!” 

She stayed silent, but her hand was moving. 

She wanted to show me something, something that was supposed to be mine.

Something that was no longer hers.

With a big smile on her face, she said 

“You mean this thing right here?”

She was showing me an eyeball that was covered with blood on her hands. 

“HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA” 

She laughed and disappeared right after she put my eye into her mouth and chewed it right in front of my face. 

The story was supposed to end up right there. 

But, I heard vaguely someone call my name

“-a”

“-ra”

“LAURA!” 

I woke up in a waiting room in a hospital, and I said to myself quietly “Huft, I guess that's just a dream then.” kinda relieved. 

I looked up and saw this guy who was not too tall standing in front of me.

He’s a doctor, my eye doctor to be more precise. 

“Sorry for disturbing your sleep”

“It’s fine,” I said 

“Anyway” 

With a wide smile on his face and an excited tone, he said,

“I have good news for you”

“What is it?” I asked 

And he replied with, “I FOUND A PERFECT EYE FOR YOU!” 

My eyes widen, 

“NO WAY !!”

Tears start to fill my eyes,

I had goosebumps all over my body, and that’s when I realized

I will have a nightmare come true.
