On the 14th of February, a parade was held in Philadelphia in honor of the Eagles and their victory at the Super Bowl, and one parade-goer gave her account of what it was like.
After the sweeping victory of the Eagles at Super Bowl LIX, a parade to celebrate it was held here in Philadelphia, going across the city on Valentine’s Day. It ran from the bottom of Broad St. all the way up to the Art Museum.
Sandy, a secretary at Furness, attended the parade, and we asked her how it was. For her general feelings about the Eagles winning, she was ecstatic about being able to see two Super Bowl wins in a lifetime, let alone in seven years. Then we asked if she went to the last victory parade and how it compared to this year’s. It appeared to be more organized than the one in 2018, but still had some room for improvement, with a big one being the weather, although obviously, it’s out of their control.
Finally, as Philly is infamous for being rowdy during celebrations, we asked her to describe the other people there. “I’ve never seen so many people get wheelchaired away --- because they were so drunk”. People were also climbing on the porta-potties and on poles to get a better view.
The last Super Bowl victory parade also had a lot of issues with people getting too drunk, no doubt worsened by the fact that they gave out free drinks that day for being the first Super Bowl victory for Philly.
