PHCCLA is proud to provide a federally approved apprenticeship program for future Journeymen Plumbers. This program is overseen by the Louisiana Workforce Commission Apprenticeship Division to prepare prospective plumbing professionals for state regulated testing and licensing. A successful completion is required to qualify to apply for the Journeyman Plumber test and license issued by the State Plumbing Board of Louisiana.
The apprenticeship program is a 3.5-year program, inclusive of 576 classroom hours and 7,000 on-the-job-training (OJT) hours.
PHCCLA follows the PHCC National Educational Foundation's curriculum recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor Office of Apprenticeship. The 4-book series is updated by educators and industry experts to deliver practical information needed to meet the industry's workforce training needs.
PHCCLA offers eLearning through our partnership with PHCC Academy, as a self disciplined program completed online. PHCCLA and employers are able to monitor progress to ensure satisfactory advancement. eLearning is available to applicants throughout Louisiana. Online assignments satisfy the required classroom hours.
PHCCLA is pleased to partner with the Baton Rouge Community College and Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College to offer the PHCC curriculum and to work with students on job placement.
