You can communicate with your groups and Services teams using Church Center if chat has been enabled!
Groups can start conversations and chat using the Church Center mobile app and web browser.
Services teams can chat using the Church Center and Services mobile apps.
⚠️ If you have administrative rights that allow you to log into Planning Center and search the People database, only you can edit your contact information.
To begin chatting with your group, start a conversation! Each group can have up to 100 conversations. When the 101st conversation starts, the oldest conversation is removed and cannot be recovered.
⚠️ Members of groups or teams under 13 are excluded from the chat and related notifications.
From any Church Center mobile app page, tap the chat icon.
Tap New conversation to select the group you want to begin a conversation with.
Add the name for this conversation, then select Start conversation.
From your group's Chat tab, select New to start a conversation.
Add the name for this conversation, then select Start conversation.
In the mobile app, tap the chat icon at the top of any Church Center page beside Groups and select the filter option.
2. Choose one of the four filter options:
Select All my groups to include conversations for all of the groups you are part of.
Select All my teams & plans to include conversations for all teams and plans you are part of.
Select a group to filter to conversations for that particular group.
Select a team to filter to conversations for that selected team.
3. Tap All to leave the filtered view and see all of your conversations again.
⚠️ Selected filters will remain selected unless you take one of the following actions:
Tap All.
Force close the Church Center mobile app or log out.
Visit a specific group's page.
To view all conversations for a specific group, select the group's dashboard to filter to those messages.
On the Groups page, choose your group.
2. Tap the chat icon at the top or View all under Chat. The chat window will open to a filtered view that includes all of that group's conversations.
3. Choose a specific conversation to view its messages.
4. Select All to return to a view with all chats or select X to close the chat and return to the dashboard
Select your group on the My groups page.
Select Chat to view conversations within that group.

Once a conversation has started, group members can send replies, GIFs, videos (up to 50MB), and images (a maximum of 10 at a time).
⚠️ Messages are limited to 4,979 characters.
Conversations can be muted, edited, or deleted.
Anyone can mute a conversation for themselves, but members can only edit or delete conversations they started or their own replies.
Leaders can edit or delete any conversation or message in any group or team chat.
Once a conversation has started, group members can send replies, GIFs, videos (up to 50MB), and images (a maximum of 10 at a time).
⚠️ Conversations with your Services teams cannot be frozen.
From the conversation list, swipe left to quickly mute/unmute a conversation or mark it as read.
For more management options, select a specific conversation, then tap the name to update the conversation details.
Tap the name field to update the conversation name.
Mute this conversation to stop receiving notifications when there is a new reply. Muted chats have a canceled bell icon next to them in your chat list.
Freeze this conversation when you want to turn off continued reactions and replies for the whole group.
Delete this conversation when it's no longer needed.
A green dot appears next to a member's profile picture if they are currently viewing the chat, and you'll see labels for leaders and conversation owners.
Select the conversation you wish to address, then select the Options dropdown to update the conversation settings.
Mute this conversation to stop receiving notifications when there is a new reply.
Edit the name of the conversation.
Delete this conversation when it's no longer needed.
Freeze this conversation when you want to turn off continued replies and reactions for the whole group.
You can react to or remove specific messages in the chat. While members can only delete messages they've created, leaders can delete any message in any conversation for their teams or groups. Anyone can copy a message or react to one with an emoji.
Tap and hold a message to use the react, copy, edit, and delete options.
Use the emoji icon to react to a message or the three-dot button to remove a message.
