The uniform policy is non-negotiable. Uniforms are required to be worn daily by ALL students. All uniforms are expected to be neat and clean. Uniforms must also be worn on school-sponsored field trips unless otherwise specified in a written notification. The uniform policy was formulated by parents, administrators, teachers and students. This policy incorporates the Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) system-wide dress code for students.

Lightweight jackets without a hood can be worn that are solid colored black or white; Wise outerwear without hood
Jean jackets (blue jean only, NO JEAN SHIRTS)
Purses
Purse must be smaller than a 3-ring binder. If a 3 ring binder fits in the bag the bag is too big.
Wise Gear
Students may wear a Wise shirt with their uniform pants.
UNACCEPTABLE CLOTHING
No Shorts or Mini Skirt
No coats or Hoodies
No T-Shirts, midriff shirts, V-necks, tank tops, thermal shirts, or button-less shirts
No Sweat pants, shirts or jackets
No Scarves, hats, skull caps, bandanas, or head gear. Head dresses can be worn for religious or health reasons with acceptable documentation
No revealing, stretched, leggings or tight clothing
No thigh high, fishnet stockings or panty hose
No suspenders, chains or alterations to any clothing (cut-out holes, rips, slits and drawings).

TRANSPORTATION
This weekend, our Transportation Call Center (301-952-6570) will be open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. to assist with questions or concerns about your child’s bus assignment. We also encourage you to submit inquiries online through the Transportation Resolution Center on the PGCPS website. We ask for your patience during the first few weeks of school as drivers become acclimated to routes. Given staffing challenges, delays should be expected. We will do our best to minimize wait times and communicate delays at the school level when possible.

There will be two different designs and two different colors available to purchase. All sizes for students and parents. Cost will be approximately $20.00 each. The sale is cash only and T-shirts will be handed to you immediately so that students can be in uniform attire for the first day of school. Shirts are very popular so please come early to purchase!

Prince George’s County Public Schools is unable to administer the SAT to all eleventh graders during the March 3rd SAT School Day administration. The SAT can only be administered in-person and our students will still be engaged in distance learning during this time.

The Diploma Ceremonies for Wise HS is scheduled on Tuesday, August 4th, and Wednesday, August 5th, at the WHS Auditorium. Please expect a letter from our Principal, Mr. Parker, with the link to a Graduation Participation Form. Complete the form by July 22nd to receive your scheduled time for participation in the ceremony. Only graduates/students who respond will be scheduled to participate.

TRANSPORTATION
This weekend, our Transportation Call Center (301-952-6570) will be open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. to assist with questions or concerns about your child’s bus assignment. We also encourage you to submit inquiries online through the Transportation Resolution Center on the PGCPS website. We ask for your patience during the first few weeks of school as drivers become acclimated to routes. Given staffing challenges, delays should be expected. We will do our best to minimize wait times and communicate delays at the school level when possible.

Wise T-Shirts will be sold starting at 4:00 in the auditorium lobby. These shirts are for 9th graders that can be worn instead of gold polo shirts. Wise gear is very popular among the students and can be worn each day as a school uniform shirt with their khaki pants. There will be two different designs and two different colors available to purchase. All sizes for students and parents. Cost will be approximately $20.00 each. The sale is cash only and T-shirts will be handed to you immediately so that students can be in uniform attire for the first day of school. Shirts are very popular so please come early to purchase!

- SAT School Day Update - Prince George’s County Public Schools is unable to administer the SAT to all eleventh graders during the March 3rd SAT School Day administration. The SAT can only be administered in-person and our students will still be engaged in distance learning during this time.

The Puma Yearbook Staff is in the process of completing and submitting our Dr. Henry A. Wise, Jr. High School 2020 yearbook. It will be printed, and it will be distributed. We are not sure exactly what the timeline will be or the process will look like, but we will have a yearbook this year. If you would like to guarantee that your student receives a 2020 yearbook, you should order one by Friday, May 8. We will order a limited number of additional copies.
