Shalom Sery-Ble is a senior at Northwestern High School in the Jim Henson Visual and Performing Arts Academy, where she majors in Dance. Previously, she studied dance with Alexander Community Dance Group from 2013-2015. In addition to her training in Ballet, Jazz, and Modern, she is gaining experience in leadership through Academic Internship where she trains, teaches, choreographs, and reflects. She was inducted into The National Honors Society in Dance Arts in 2021, which allows her to work and perform with the NHSDA dance ensemble, Royale Dance Company. She has created dance works for three performances this school year that included VPA dancers from levels one and two. Her work was showcased in the Winter Concert 2022 (Into the Light), Of African Descent concert, the PGCPS Student Choreography Showcase, Spring Concert 2023 (Next), and the Northwestern High School pep rally. Shalom hopes to further her education at a four-year college to study biology, psychology, and/or dance education.
