Is PEIP 2.0 always at the same location and time?

        • Yes. Our NEW location is Samuel P. Massie (October-May) from 4:30-7:30pm.

Do I have to pre-register?

        • It is not mandatory to pre-register.

Do I have to stay for both sessions?

        • Yes. In order to receive the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credit, you must attend both sessions, and stay for the entire duration of each session.

Am I compensated for my attendance?

        • No. PEIP 2.0 is a voluntary professional development opportunity.

What happens if there is inclement weather on the night of PEIP?

        • Check with our local media for weather closures and our school system website. We follow the Prince George’s County Public Schools decision regarding closures for inclement weather. In addition, there are alternative dates for closures, due to inclement weather. Please refer to the NTA/PEIP 2.0 website for more information.

How many evenings do I have to attend to get the CPD credit?

        • You must attend 5 nights, 2 sessions per night. In total, 10 sessions.

How many CPD credits do I get?

        • You will receive 1 CPD credit which may be used for renewing your teaching certificate. Please consult with Human Resources for information regarding your recertification requirements.

Can I come to PEIP if I'm sick from work?

        • Prince George’s County Public Schools does not allow employees to attend after school activities, if you are not present at work during the day.

Can I bring my child to the sessions?

        • No. Children are not covered under the Prince George’s County Public Schools’ insurance. Please make other arrangements for child care.

Will there be food?

        • Food is often provided by a sponsor. However, we recommend each attendant bring personal snacks and water as well.
