Racism: How Can We Change America's Culture?
Racism in the United States is found in America's history, culture, and institutions. Racism in American culture means that white people have more advantages, opportunities, and privileges than black people and brown people. As we have learned in class, culture is learned. Culture shapes how we think and how we behave. We learn ideas, beliefs, behaviors, and values from our families, friends, and experiences. We learn from school, television, and social media. How can we change America's culture of racism?
