Position Description: Forsyth County Club is seeking a professional who brings strong operational instincts, visible member engagement, and a modern approach to service and team leadership. The experience gained in this role will position the successful candidate for continued advancement within the club and in their career.
The Head Golf Professional will work closely with the Director of Golf to lead day-to-day golf operations while helping shape the overall member experience. This role includes leadership in instruction, tournament operations, merchandising, staff development, and daily golf shop operations, with meaningful influence and autonomy across the entire golf program.
Provide exemplary service to both members and guests of Forsyth Country Club. Have a service-minded attitude
Experienced club fitter and teacher, as these are vital to success in this position. Each Assistant will work closely with the other Professional Staff to provide an extensive number of lessons and club fittings
Serve as an ambassador of the Club by tirelessly promoting, serving, and representing Forsyth Country Club and understanding the importance of both the golf operation and the Club as a whole
Assist the Director of Golf in the management and execution of an extensive tournament schedule
Provide lessons to all segments of the membership, including: juniors, ladies, men, and seniors
Assist in the training, supervision, and mentoring of the Outside Service Staff.
Assist the Professional Staff in the implementation of all golf operation policies and procedures
Assist the other Professional Staff in supervising and managing the total golf operation effectively and efficiently in the absence of the Director of Golf
Maintain a professional appearance and presentation, men will be clean-shaven
Maintain an active classification within the PGA of America. If not already a PGA Member, they will actively pursue their membership
Work to keep personal golf game to a competitive level
Specific Responsibilities:
Lead Men’s Golf Tournament Schedule and Programming
Delegate tasks to staff from the Director of Golf
Leading the golf operation in the absence of the Director of Golf
Oversee communication to membership
Oversee tee sheet management (blocking for tournaments, frost delays, etc.)
Scheduling for Staff
Assist with Ladies’ Tournaments and Programming
Attend Staff and Golf and Green Committee meetings with the Director of Golf
Involved in the budgeting process of tournaments and golf operation
Daily Tasks:
Monitoring and maintaining the required pace of play, working alongside the outside service staff to ensure all areas of the operation run smoothly, and managing the practice areas and bag room
Ability to lead all aspects of tournament set-up, including scorecards, golf car tags, proximities, staging area set-up, billing charges
Efficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, Golf Genius and Club Essential tee sheet software
Maintain complete knowledge of the handicapping system and all pertinent handicap information
Stays up-to-date and current on all upcoming club events
Knowledge and application of the USGA Rules of Golf
Minor club repair and re-gripping
Engage, interact, and play with the membership
Individual instruction, clinics, and club fitting
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
Sufficient stamina to tolerate heat, cold, humid, and rainy outdoor conditions for several hours
Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment that is typical of this position
Frequent lifting, bending, stooping, and pulling
Ability to lift 35-40 lbs
Frequent repetitive motions
Including, but not limited to, the following:
Associate's degree or 4 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Candidates must be Active Class "A" Members of the PGA.
The club will provide a compensation and benefits package commensurate with experience and qualifications. This includes but is not limited to:
Compensation: $70,000 - $80,000 Per Year
Total Anticipated Compensation Up To: $85,000
Anticipated $10,000-$12,000 in lesson income
Full-time benefits after 60 days

401K options are available after one year
Club Christmas Bonus
$750 clothing allowance
PGA Dues and PGA education are covered
