Kenosha, WI | Since its beginnings, The Club at Strawberry Creek has been celebrated for its picturesque location in Kenosha, Wisconsin. What started as Thompson Strawberry Farm has quickly become one of the Midwest’s most breathtaking and well-conditioned private courses. Designed by award-winning architect Rick Jacobsen, our 18-hole Championship course under Rick’s supervision, has just finished a complete renovation of 125 bunkers with the “Better Billy System” and new, Diamond sand. The 7,172-yard layout sits at the highest point in Kenosha County where wind is an element of defense to scoring for this links style gem.

POSITION OVERVIEW
Title: Head Golf Professional
Reports to: General Manager, Josh Hershoff, PGA/CMAA
Supervises: All Golf Staff - Assistant Professionals, Golf Shop Staff, Outside Operations
Position Description: The Head Golf Professional’s primary responsibility is to provide an enjoyable and memorable experience for all Club members and guests. The Head Professional should possess excellent leadership traits that will assist in surrounding him or her with a strong team to assist in delivering enjoyable and memorable experiences.
The Head Golf Professional will directly manage all areas of the golf operation and work closely with Matt Kregel, Golf Course Superintendent, and other department heads while reporting to Josh Hershoff, PGA General Manager, to ensure the golf operations are an integrated component of the entire Club experience. They are expected to take a strategic approach to showcasing recent improvements while ensuring that the long-term direction and planning are aligned with the Club’s Mission.
The Head Golf Professional will be expected to oversee all aspects of the golf operations including golfer experience, tournament operations, merchandising, sales, inventory management, tee sheet management, golf cart management, starter management, marshaling, practice facility, and overall business management. They will develop and oversee a golf instruction program for golfers of all abilities and skills, including individual lessons, group lessons, golf clinics, and a vibrant junior golf program.
The Head Golf Professional will carry him or herself with the utmost professionalism while representing the Club by providing direction for all outside golf events and developing and mentoring golf staff members to become the next leaders in the industry.

Leadership and Member Engagement: Building a capable team, inspiring confidence, effectively communicating with and involving the membership in golfing activities, and stress-free tournament management.

Leadership and Team Management: Lead the team, organize Club activities, and develop assistant professionals with purpose and direction.

Rule & Policy Enforcement: Handle all members with consistency while enforcing policies and rules such as golf course access and pace of play.
Golf Instruction: A well-respected instructor who can develop and promote a comprehensive instructional program executed by the entire golf staff.
Technological Proficiency and Organization: Excel in organizational skills and leverage technology for the efficient management of the pro shop and all golf-related activities.
Commitment, Presence, and Flexibility: Show dedication to the Club, remain patient and adaptable in various situations, and maintain a welcoming and light-hearted demeanor.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Including, but not limited to, the following:
Class “A” PGA member in good standing.
3 to 5+ years of leadership and golf management experience at a private club.
Lead Assistant Professionals at a top-tier club will be considered.
Prior experience should include all aspects of golf operations, including inventory and financial control, employee motivation and training; golf instruction; and tournament and event management.
Engaging and welcoming personality.
Strong Interpersonal skills, people-oriented, and team-focused.
Excellent communication skills internally, working with committees and staff, and externally, writing and developing communications and engaging with members and guests.
Strong computer skills – excel, word processing, and relevant application skills such as Golf Genius and the Club Essentials suite of programs.
Highly organized and detail-oriented.
Ambassador for The Club at Strawberry Creek both internally and externally.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The club will provide compensation and benefits package commensurate with experience and qualifications. This includes but is not limited to:

Base Salary: $85,000-$95,000
Total Compensation: $100,000-$125,000
