As we move closer to the Thanksgiving break, all PFLEX grades are working on end-of-unit projects. Details about each project are on their PFLEX Google Classrooms under Classwork. All projects are due the week of December 11th, and we hope to share our projects with our classmates during PFLEX that week.
Here are the projects by grade: Ad About YOU! 1st and 2nd grades
Design a Zoo Exhibit for an Animal 3rd and 4th grades
Decisions 5th grade
Ask your student about their projects!

Welcome to the new school year! What a different start we are having this year!
Know that we have some wonderful new units for this year for PFLEX, and we will have virtual PFLEX pull-out, starting the week of August 31st for all identified GT students. See the PFLEX: Pflugerville Learning Extensions document below for details about PFLEX.
I am working on virtual and normal schedules for PFLEX, and will post those here and let parents know as soon as I have them ready. We will have virtual Zoom meetings once a week, and will have activities and other options available through our Google Classrooms. Class codes will be sent to students soon.
In the meantime, take a look at the Resources list below this section -- there are some wonderful websites and activities to explore!
If you have any questions or need to contact me, email is the best way, as I have several schools and am not in my office right now.

Welcome back! I am busy with GT identification committees at all my schools until mid-February. I will be working with GT students mid-February through April on independent projects. We will have project fairs the last week of April to show what we have created. More information on those will come home later.
This week, I will be meeting with all the 5th grade GT students to talk about their transition to middle school, as the MS visits are coming up soon (January 22nd) and choice sheets for MS classes will be coming home then. My basic suggestions are that GT students take PFLEX as one of their 6th grade electives, take as many PreAP courses as they are comfortable taking, and, if they are interested in band, start in 6th grade. We will talk more about class options for higher learning, other electives, and managing in MS. Parent Nights are coming up for middle school visits, too, and if you can come, it is a great way to take a first look at middle school.
Please contact me if you have any concerns or questions.
