The Virtual Academy at Valley Oaks (VAVO) is a new school within the Petaluma City Schools District (PCS). PCS has a long tradition of excellence and VAVO is the latest addition, designed to deliver an innovative and rigorous educational option for our students.
The Virtual Academy at Valley Oaks (VAVO) is a new school within the Petaluma City Schools District (PCS). PCS has a long tradition of excellence and VAVO is the latest addition, designed to deliver an innovative and rigorous educational option for our students.
VAVO is a flexible option that allows students to learn from home, in person and via online instruction. This option provides excellent PCS support for families who choose to homeschool their students or for students who need an alternative to daily, in-person attendance.

VAVO will also support students who wish to concurrently enroll in courses at our comprehensive high schools and local community colleges. Because we know that many students benefit from flexibility and choice, VAVO is designed specifically to provide an independent path that will meet individual needs. Our high school courses are WASC accredited and most are UC A-G aligned.
