The mission of the Perry Local Schools Libraries is to strengthen our school community by increasing literacy, encouraging exploration, facilitating creativity, and connecting our students and teachers.
Mrs. Badertscher, Watson Elementary School
Mrs. Badertscher has been with Perry for 11 years and is thrilled to have found a home in the Library. She has a bachelor of arts degree in Literature and Writing from Walsh University. She and her husband have been married for 256 years and have 3 boys; Brennen, Liam, and Kaiden. She loves animals and has 2 dogs and 5 cats. Her boys play baseball and she can be found at a baseball field throughout the Spring and Summer. Besides watching Perry baseball, she loves playing games with her family, doing logic puzzles, watching scary movies, and, of course, reading. She encourages you to "Remember there’s no such thing as a small act of kindness. Every act creates a ripple with no logical end." – Scott Adams
Mrs. Draime, Watson Elementary School
I have worked 20 years at Perry - 15 years as Watson Librarian. I have an associate degree in Business & Marketing from Owens Technical College. My 2 children Amanda & Jacob, both graduated from Perry High School and I have 2 grandchildren, Brayden & Aria.
I have a passion for reading. I love to pass on that passion for reading to students. I love seeing their eyes light up when I read different books to them and I like to spark their enthusiasm in choosing fun and interesting books to read. The Watson Elementary Library Learning Commons will be a fantastic fun place for students to dream big when they hold a book in their hands!
Mrs. Jacobsen, Lohr Elementary School
I have been a librarian in the elementary setting for Perry Local Schools for 20 years. I went to Malone University for higher education. My 2 children graduated from Perry High School and my 2 granddaughters attend elementary school here in Perry. I love working with the students to foster a love of reading. It's very rewarding to help them connect books to play and real life learning and lessons!
Mrs. Williams, Lohr Elementary School
My name is Beth Williams, and I began my career with Perry Local Schools in August 2000. I worked in the school cafeteria and as a special education aide before becoming an elementary school librarian in 2015. I am a Perry graduate and a lifelong Perry resident. My husband Bob and I have two daughters, Lindsay and Kylie and two wonderful grandchildren, Caroline and Calum. I am excited to be a part of this new era of elementary schools and the opportunity to share my love of reading and books with my students.
Mrs. Woodson, Southway Elementary School
I have lived in Perry Township for 36 wonderful years. I started working for Perry Local Schools in August of 2000. I became the Genoa Elementary Librarian in 2006. Both my children graduated from Perry. My daughter, Jessica, teaches at McKinley High School. My son, Garth, is an attorney in Columbus. My grandchildren, Lilly and Jackson, light up my world.
Being a librarian for Perry has been my dream job! My passion is bringing books to life for the kids. I love seeing them get excited about reading. The library lessons spark their interest and engage them with the world. The students learn that books can take you anywhere. Reading is a skill they will need and use their entire life. I am extremely excited to take them on amazing reading adventures in our beautiful new school, Southway.
