A renewal levy allows the taxing district to keep the current levy on the books and collect the same amount of money as when the original levy was voted in.

The renewal levy is not a new tax. There will be no additional cost to taxpayers.

The renewal levy was originally passed by voters in 1996. At the time of passage, the levy was for 18.9 mills.

This levy has been renewed
successfully every five years since 1996.

The renewal levy will be for 9.5 mills and will generate approximately $8,000,000—the same $8 million collected since it initially passed in 1996.

The passage of the renewal levy is critical and will allow us to maintain our current level of operations and ensure that our students continue to receive a meaningful and quality education.
