The Perkins Lab at the University of Ottawa and the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute develops machine learning and bioinformatics methods to answer cutting-edge questions in stem cell and cancer biology. We focus especially on the estimation and analysis of regulatory networks and biomarker discovery, based on high-throughput sequencing data. Current major disease foci include T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, progeria, muscle diseases (including OPMD and IB). We are also putting significant effort into the International Human Epigenome Consortium.
