2020-2021 School Year- Gr. 6
Dear Parents and Guardians:
Hello! My name is Jacqueline Devlin, and I am excited to be working with your child. I am looking forward to getting to know each one of my students; figuring out their strengths and building upon them, as well as supporting them to make them feel successful. I want each student to enter my digital classroom excited for the day and to feel like an important member of the classroom. I want them to know that I value their thoughts and ideas. Just as equally important, I want to get to know your child on a personal level. I want to know his/her likes and dislikes, what extracurricular activities he/she may participate in, and anything else he/she wants to share with me.
I know that my teaching must begin with making your son/daughter feel at home in our digital classroom community. Therefore, throughout the year I will be conducting team building activities. Additionally, your child will have opportunities to share ( orally and in writing) information about his/her hobbies, interests, strengths, and areas that need some improving. At through virtual learning at Charles Boehm, your child can look forward to an exciting year filled with self-discovery, social, and academic growth.
Professionally, I am entering my twenty-fifth year in education. I graduated from the University of Delaware in 1993 with a Bachelor of Education in Elementary and Special Education. My teaching experiences have been varied and have provided me with the chance to instruct students of diverse ages, abilities, and learning styles.
Personally, I have a ten year old son who is entering fifth grade. He is the apple of my eye, no pun intended, and your child will be hearing all about his antics throughout the year. Many of the stories deliver the message of tolerance, respect, and putting forth your best effort.
As parents, YOU are the most important people in your child’s life. Working together as a TEAM, we can make this a positive, productive, and rewarding year for your child.
Kind regards,
Jacqui Devlin
