How to Have a Productive Parent/Teacher Conference

Parent/Teacher Conferences are an important event each school year  This is your opportunity to check on your child's progress in a face to face meeting with the teacher.  If your child works with multiple teachers, ask for these additional staff members to come to your conference.  Below is some advice for how to make your conference productive.

2. Please let the teacher know if any of your contact information has changed and what is your preferred method of communication.

3. Make sure you have access to the Home Access Center (HAC).   Report cards are not printed and sent home. You will need to access this information on HAC.  You can also visit HAC to check on your child’s attendance.

4. Do you know your child’s passwords for accessing programs they need for school?  If not, ask the teacher for this information.

5. The grading system has changed since you were in school.  Ask questions to help you understand the new system.

6. Look through the halls to see your child’s work.  When you get home, make sure to mention what you saw.

7. Leave a note in your child’s desk or cubby.
