Miss Burghart's First grade Class

About Me

My name is Miss Burghart. This is my third year teaching and my first year at Pennoyer School. I graduated from Cedarville University in Ohio with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. This past year, I also completed by English as a Second Language Certification. I am from the Chicagoland area and am so happy to be serving this community.

Philosophy of Teaching

Teachers

It is a teacher’s responsibility to create a positive learning environment for their students and seek to do what is best for them in the classroom. Teachers should be organized, goal-oriented, and knowledgeable, as well as looking create lasting community relationships.

Students

Every student is a unique individual and should be treated as such. Students thrive in environments where there are high expectations. Every student has the ability to learn when they are given the tools needed to do so. In my classroom, every student should feel supported, safe, and valued.

Learning

I love learning and I have made it my lifelong passion. It is my most sincere desire to passion that love for learning on to my students. I look forward to continuing to learn and grow through every opportunity I am given.
