5th Grade Conestoga
Welcome to 5th Grade!
We would like to officially welcome you to fifth grade and inform you of some important details for a great year!
Laptops:
It will be important as a fifth grader to bring a charged laptop each and every day to school. Please remember that it is each student’s responsibility to take care of the school-issued computer, charge it at home, and bring it to school in the assigned computer bag – the computer MAY NOT be transported in a student backpack.
Headphones:
Before students come to school, make sure they test that their earbuds/headphones work properly and are comfortable.
Water Bottles:
We are asking that students bring a filled water bottle each day, if possible.

About Your Teachers!
Mr. Thompson is excited to be entering his third year at Conestoga. He moved to the Lancaster area five years ago and took a position teaching at Martic Elementary. This coming year will be his twelfth year teaching overall. When not teaching, you can find him spending quality time with his two lovely daughters or taking time to read, hike, kick a soccer ball around, or sip on a good cup of coffee. Mr. Rodriguez is excited to begin his first year at Conestoga Elementary and his 19th year in education. He has taught at both the elementary and middle school levels as well as been a school administrator at both the elementary and secondary levels. He’s thrilled to get back into the classroom after 6 years of school administration, especially after hearing about the awesome school community at Conestoga Elementary. Mr. Rodriguez loves spending time with his wife and 3 children, enjoys biking, hiking, going to the beach, and taking walks with his dog Rex in the evenings. We are both thrilled to be working together and to help you make your fifth grade year the best!
Each of us will be teaching writing/grammar and spelling to our individual homerooms. Mr. Rodriguez will be teaching reading and social studies to the entire fifth grade. Mr. Thompson will be teaching mathematics and science to the fifth grade.
