About our providers

Dr. John Tyler practiced Family Medicine in Blue Hill for 16 years. Subsequently, he did fellowship training in obstetrics at UCLA Harbor Medical Center in California. He was Residency Director at two different medical centers in Pennsylvania. He was Director of Emergency Services at Penobscot Valley Hospital, and did Medical Services at Maine Maritime Academy for 8 years until his recent retirement. He began volunteering at Peninsula Free Health in June 2019.

Dr. Tom Bugbee did a Residency at Lancaster General Hospital in Pennsylvania. He moved to Blue Hill with his wife Carolyn in 1991, where he has practiced a full range of family medicine throughout Hancock County, including Blue Hill Family Medicine, and Island Family Medicine (Deer Isle/Stonington). Currently, Tom is working full time at the Ellsworth office of the Bucksport Regional Health Center, though he still resides in Blue Hill. He began volunteering at Peninsula Free Health in January 2020.
