Dear Parents and Community Members,
Thank you for your interest in Pender County Schools. As your public school system, we greatly value your input and support.
Pender County Schools is the largest employer in Pender County with more than 1,200 staff members. The district is comprised of 16 schools serving approximately 9,300 students in grades Pre-K through 13. Detailed information regarding school and student performance, class sizes, attendance, school facilities, and staff is available through the North Carolina School Report Cards. As required by state and federal guidelines, the report card is distributed to every student in our district.
We encourage you to review information available through the school report card and contact your school principal should you have any questions. As instructional leaders, our principals welcome the opportunity to share their school’s results and discuss programs and initiatives taking place at their building.
As a school district and a community, we have much of which to be proud, including gains in student achievement, district-wide accreditation, and the recently completed renovations and additions at Burgaw Middle, Cape Fear Elementary, Cape Fear Middle, Pender High, and West Pender Middle. The Penderlea School and Surf City area elementary and middle school projects are well underway and we look forward to opening both for the 2018-19 school year.
We know that these points of pride would not have been possible without our dedicated, hardworking staff members and support from parents and the community. We thank you, and we look forward to continuing to work together to promote student achievement.
Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns.
