Check out what our students have to say about PBIS.

PBIS is a proactive and interactive approach to establish a social culture in a school that supports social, emotional, and academic success. It uses data-based decision-making to align curriculum and behavioral supports for students and staff. It is aimed at supporting safe and effective school environments while preventing behavior problems with students. PBIS is a way for schools to encourage good behavior. WithPBIS, students learn about behavior, just as they learn other subjects like math or science. The key to PBIS is prevention, not punishment.PBIS can help improve student discipline, behavior and even grades.PBIS is for all students in a school, not just those receiving special education services. The HTHS PBIS Team works diligently to encourage, recognize, and reward positive actions.

DREAM Tickets: Each week teachers will receive 6 DREAM Tickets to distribute to deserving students who are exemplifying characteristics of the Titan DREAM (Dignity, Responsibility, Empowerment, Attitude, and Maturity). Students can use these tickets to purchase rewards during Titan Lunch from the showcase located in Logo Area.

“Titan of the Week”: Teachers are encouraged to nominate a deserving student each week to be entered into a random drawing to win the honor of becoming “Titan of the Week.” There are four Titans picked each week, one per grade level. Nominees who are not selected will remain in the nomination pool to see if their name may be drawn in future weeks. Each winner is recognized on the Monday morning announcements and rewarded with a certificate, six Dream Tickets, a free admission pass to a home sporting event that must be used within 30 days, and a letter of recognition that is mailed home to their parent or guardian. Pictures of the “Titans of the Week” are displayed in the Logo Area and on school website for one week.
