Here is an example of a racial bullying scenario that is directly aimed to the victim:

A boy named Amir has just joined a new school. During lunch, some classmates laugh at the food he brings from home, calling it “weird” and “gross” because it smells different from theirs. Later in the playground, a group of kids mock his accent when he speaks, repeating his words back in exaggerated voices. They tell others not to play football with him because he’s “not from here.” Amir starts sitting alone at lunch and avoids speaking in class because he doesn’t want to be laughed at.

That’s racial bullying: his race and cultural background are being used as reasons to exclude and humiliate him.

Here is an example of a racial bullying scenario that is sent to the victim via a device (known as cyberbullying):

A girl named Amina posts a photo of herself in traditional clothing for a cultural celebration. On social media, a group of classmates leaves comments like “That looks stupid,” “Go back to where you came from,” and uses racist emojis. They even make a group chat where they share edited pictures of her with offensive captions, tagging her so she sees them. Amina starts dreading notifications and feels unsafe using her own accounts.
