We are looking forward to the Year 7 Outdoor Experience at Woodhouse Adventure Park in the Adelaide Hills, during Term 2 in 2026.
Camp 1: Monday 15th to Wednesday 17th June (7J, 7SR and 7M)
Camp 2: Wednesday 17th to Friday 19th June (7R and 7G)
The Year 7, “Growth in the Forest” program aims to give students an early opportunity to develop positive relationships with their classmates by taking calculated risks within the environment. Students will develop positive social skills through trust and team building activities including rock climbing and challenge hill.
Personal growth is an ongoing journey throughout life, in this setting challenges are designed to complement experiences that students have in the College setting with a strong emphasis on building confidence around peers, personal resilience and independence.
The registration for your child’s participation in this experience needs to be completed by Monday 25th May (Term 2, Week 5).

There will not be a specific Camp Parent Information Session, however classroom teachers will speak about the experience at the Year 7 Parent Information Evening on Tuesday 3rd February.
Parents are invited to contact their child's teacher or Year 7 Coordinator Morgan Rigby (mrigby@pedarecc.sa.edu.au) about any group or pastoral questions, and Bronwyn Dutch (Director of Outdoor Education, bdutch@pedarecc.sa.edu.au) if they have any queries about the logistics for the Camp.
Camp 1 - 7J, 7SR and 7M
Departure: Students are to meet in the Vacant Paddock adjacent to the main entrance kiss and drop off Surrey Farm Drive on Monday 15th June at 8.30am ready for a 9am departure.
Return: Students will return to the College by 3:00pm on Wednesday 17th June.
Camp 2 - 7R and 7G

Please see information below regarding the expectations for medication, both prescription and non-prescription, required by students on camp:
All daily medication needs to be provided to the College Nurse in a Medication Blister Pack no later than 7 days prior to camp departure.
1) Any medication that a Pharmacist will not pack in a Blister Pack due to storage requirements will require the original packaging and a pharmacy label (including over-the-counter medication).
2) Please ensure any medication that your child would usually have in the Health Centre during the day while at school, is up to date and that the relevant Care Plans/Medication Agreement forms have been provided.
The Camp Medication Agreement Form must be completed for all medications taken in a 24 hour period.
These medications will be administered by a College nurse who will be present on camp for the entire time.
Paracetamol, Ibuprofen and Antihistamine will be supplied by the College for use on the camp. Please ensure that you have consented to these medications on Consent2Go.
Please do not pack the above medications in your child’s bag. Any medication found in your child’s bag that has not been disclosed to the College will be confiscated.
Any S8 Medications (controlled medications such as Ritalin etc), will need a doctor to complete and sign the form.
Any Diabetic students who are attending and will be located more than 30 minutes from Medical assistance will need to have a Medication Agreement and Glucagon sent to camp as well as their Diabetes Action Plan and Hypo Kit.

Students will need to provide the following for the camp:
1 packed lunch for the first day
1 breakfast (Whole fruits, choice of cereal in ziplock bags, 250ml long life milk, muesli bars, etc)
1 dinner (In pairs, students will organise the meal in the menu planning session during class time, prior to camp and the meal will be cooked on a Trangia)
Snacks (no nuts or wrapped lollies)
1 litre water bottle for activities
All other food is provided.
A student food preparation session will be held prior to camp to support students plan a healthy menu for camp and work with their tent partner to create a shopping list.

Please pack all items into a sports/duffle bag and avoid using large suitcases on wheels.

All specialised camping equipment will be supplied which includes, but is not limited to: rain jackets, tents, sleeping mats, cooking stoves, mountain bikes, helmets, gloves, etc.
Hiking (expedition) – Students will walk from Woodhouse to Mt Lofty Botanic Gardens along the Heysen Trail. Enjoying the scenery and wildlife, students will return to Woodhouse and camp in tents on the grounds of Woodhouse Activity Centre.
Mountain Biking – Students will participate in a basic skills mountain bike riding session with opportunities to be more adventurous.
Rock climbing -Experience the exhilaration of conquering the epic 15-metre-high Adventure Tower. SA’s highest artificial outdoor rock climb and abseiling wall.
Zip Line - At 324 metres, the Forest Zipline is the longest in South Australia! Take in the beauty of the Woodhouse Forests from a different perspective. Gliding through the air, experience the treetops in a whole new way.
Mega Swing - What better way to get the adrenaline flowing than taking the plunge on a giant 18-metre, 3-person Mega Swing! Experience the thrill of plummeting toward the ground and then back up again.
Billy Carts – Students will find materials and construct a billy cart in groups before participating in the Billy Cart Grand Prix.
As per the College Fee Schedule, all year level Outdoor Education experiences are designed as part of a holistic education program, providing students with further opportunities to develop their learning and social skills.
These opportunities aim to develop deeper learning, confidence, resilience, independence, responsibility and a sense of community within the context of the College values.
Outdoor Education experiences are an integral part of the curriculum and all students are expected to attend.
