Meet the Pearson Wellness Team

Dominique Correa (she/her)

Health Center Administrator

After moving to Victoria from Brazil, and volunteering at Pearson College in 2015, Dominique has come back as a resident and Houseparent. She holds a degree in Communication from Pontificia Universidade Catolica do Parana (BR) and is passionate about nature and animals and loves to spend her spare time with her cats Kevin and Connor.

Candice Hall (she/her)

Indigenous Student Wellness Coordinator

Candice is Coast Salish from the Cowichan Tribes here on Vancouver Island. She has over 25 years experience working with children and youth. She thoughtfully developed a progressive nature-based preschool program that bridged Indigenous ways of knowing and being. Here at Pearson she is actively connecting our Indigenous students with elders and promoting sharing of knowledge, giving space for students to be connected to their culture and the land here on the unceded territory of Scia’new (Beecher Bay) First Nation. “We need to work together for a healthy community and workplace.”

Julia Clark (she/her)

Strategic Wellness Coordinator

As a former student, houseparent and Dean of Students at Pearson, Julia has experienced many aspects of campus life. As a member of faculty and as the Strategic Wellness Coordinator, Julia brings her experience and knowledge of wellness to the Core course and to support the adult community in learning about supporting healthy students. Julia also runs the Peer Supporters and is trained in mental health first aid and crisis response.

Angela Gatari (she/her)

Dean of Students

Angela is the Dean of Students and houseparent for TEKI house. Angela is an experienced campus resident and parent of two boys. She also worked in Japan for more than a decade in the fields of public and international relations and is past Vice-President of the Victoria Immigrant & Refugee Centre Society. Angela has a BA in Mass Communications from Carleton University and an MA in Applied Communications from Royal Roads University.

Tracy Ewert (she/her)

School Nurse

Tracy and her doggies from Cuba are relatively new to the Island and have been enjoying adventures exploring their new home. She is excited to return to Pearson and meet all the amazing students and staff. Fun fact: She once unintentionally hiked to Machu Picchu in flip flops. Her super power is making chocolate disappear.

Catherine Oliver (she/her)

School Nurse

Catherine has been a Practical Nurse for 15 years working across Canada. She grew up in Victoria with Pearson College students coming for homestays and project week for as long as she can remember. She now feels so blessed to be a part of the Pearson College community.

Marisa Collins (she/her)

College Doctor

Dr. Collins will be providing care and support at Pearson within the scopes of both mental health and sexual health. In other words, you can talk about absolutely anything with her that relates to your emotional, mental, sexual or reproductive health.

She is on faculty in the Department of Family Practice at UBC, and recently went “back to school” to pursue enhanced skills training in mental health. In 2020 Marisa stepped away from working with the not-for-profit Options for Sexual Health, after two decades as one of their doctors and six years as the Medical Director (great resources at – check them out).

Marisa is passionate about swimming in the ocean, local lakes and rivers. She really hopes that some of you will join her in the water!

Marnie Caron (she/her)

Clinical Counsellor

Marnie is a clinical counsellor (RCC), has worked in a variety of settings with youth, and provides individual counselling for students who are having difficulties coping with life’s challenges such as low mood, worrying thoughts, academic pressures and transitioning from home to school life. Marnie takes a holistic approach and integrates techniques from modalities including Response Based Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy. All of us face challenging circumstances in our lifetime and she strongly believes that even the strongest and most resilient individuals can find themselves repeating unhelpful patterns of thinking that take us away from a rewarding and productive life.

Massoud Moslehi (he/him)

Clinical Counsellor

As a Clinical counsellor on the Wellness team, my role is to treat mood and anxiety disorders. I am trained in several clinically proven modalities and bring a blend of curiosity, compassion, and challenge to support your growth.

Dillon Lewchuk (He/Him)

Art Therapist + Counselor

Dillon incorporates an integrative approach to counseling by incorporating Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solutions-Focused & Art Therapy with an attachment, and strengths-based lens. By utilizing these different modes of therapy, Dillon aims to provide safety, connection, and empowerment for his clients. Dillon places his clients as the experts in their own lives and supports them by bringing awareness of the connections between the perception of themselves, their relationships with others, and how society impacts their well-being.

China Lloyd (she/her)

Holistic Therapist

China is a holistic therapist and health and wellness practitioner who has worked in the field of youth health and wellness for over 12 years. She is specially trained in applied mindfulness, trauma-informed yoga therapy and somatic therapy. Her approach is accessible, compassion-centered and practical, helping empower students to care for their own mental and emotional well-being. She works with students in a variety of capacities, helping them through concerns of anxiety, depression, stress related issues, sleep disturbances, mindful eating and self-management. She has an MA in interdisciplinary studies with a special focus on holistic education and social-emotional learning. She is also currently completing her second MA in counselling psychology. In addition to her work as a therapist, China served as a houseparent of MCL for 9 years, affording her a keen understanding of the unique Pearson experience!
