Student of the Quarter Award

The Student of the Quarter Award recognizes two outstanding students from each grade level, 9–12, every nine weeks. With four grading periods each school year, a total of 32 students are honored for demonstrating exceptional behavior, work ethic, attendance, and citizenship.

Each nine weeks, staff members nominate deserving students, and the principal carefully reviews the nominations before selecting the recipients. Awarded students are celebrated with a special lunch at a local restaurant hosted by the principal. Their achievements are also highlighted in the Student of the Quarter display case at the main entrance of the building, serving as an inspiration to their peers.

At the end of the school year, all 32 Students of the Quarter are rewarded with an exclusive field trip. The cost of this trip is covered by the Chesapeake Academic Boosters, ensuring that every student selected can attend at no expense. This trip serves as a final celebration of their achievements and as a way for the school to express its appreciation for their outstanding contributions to Chesapeake High School.
