About the Teacher

I was born in Holyoke, Massachusetts. My father was stationed there when he was in the Navy. I grew up in Minnesota, so if you hear me say, "Ya, ya, you betcha!" you'll understand why! After graduating from Concordia University in St. Paul, Minnesota with a BA degree in Elementary Education, I began my teaching career in a 2 room Lutheran school. I taught 1st grade - 4th grade in my room. It was then that I started my collection of pigs.

Since then I've taught in both Lutheran and public schools, self contained and departmentalized classrooms. I've even taught at a Fine Arts Academy where I taught Speech/Drama, beginning Piano and beginning Guitar - along with a regular 5th grade curriculum. I've taught in Minnesota, Texas, North Carolina, California and Michigan. My teaching career has given me experience with children at all learning levels and socioeconomic backgrounds in grades Kindergarten-8.

Technology is my favorite subject to teach. Technology is constantly changing, so I am constantly learning new things - just like my students! Badges I've earned as I've learned are posted below.

I have three wonderful grown children with families of their own. My three beautiful grandchildren keep me busy. I love to do bulletin boards, travel, sing, garden, hike, craft, sew, bake and take my grandchildren on adventures. As I said earlier, I also love to learn!

This Bulletin board is full of Auras. To view them, download the Aurasma app on your phone or tablet. Find and follow the PLMinistries channel. Next time you are at school, hover your device over the symbols, photos and words to reveal the Auras.

You will also find some on the pillars in the Commons area.
