Michelle Castano Garcia

Washington Trust Bank is proud to highlight and honor Michelle Castano Garcia, Vice President and Trust Officer, in Portland’s Walk of the Heroines.

Ms. Castano Garcia is a Vice President and Senior Relationship Manager for Washington Trust Bank’s Wealth Management and Advisory Services department in Portland. Since entering the banking industry in 1986, Ms. Castano Garcia has developed the knowledge, experience, and professionalism to become one of the best and most respected individuals in her field.

In 2006, Ms. Castano Garcia was honored by the Portland Business Journal as one of their top “Forty under 40” business people. The award recognizes professionals under the age of forty for their accomplishments in business and community involvement. She was selected from over three hundred nominations of young Portland executives.

Ms. Castano Garcia’s glowing enthusiasm and drive carries over into her extensive commitment to the Portland community, where she currently serves on the Boards of the Sister’s of St. Mary of Oregon foundation, the Oregon Children’s Theatre, and the NW Business for Culture and Arts. She is also a member of the Portland Allied Professional Partnership Steering Committee, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, and a Trust Committee Member for the Oregon Bankers Association. Ms. Castano Garcia also volunteers at the Valley Catholic Grade School, Valley Catholic Middle School, and St. Pius X Catholic Church.

Ms. Castano Garcia earned her Bachelor of Arts in Rhetoric and Communications with an emphasis in Economics from the University of Oregon. She also holds a NASD Series 65 license.

Ms. Castano Garcia resides in Portland with her husband and two school-aged children.
