Join The SSWC Advisory Board

Are you interested in helping to shape programming and support the Services for Students with Children? Services for Students with Children is now accepting applications for its advisory board. Being on the Advisory Board allows you to have input into how our programs are administered, how we spend our budget, and how we develop and reach our goals. It's great to have on your resume, and a wonderful learning experience. The purpose of the PSU SSWC Advisory Board is to promote involvement, cooperation and accountability in the SSWC. You do not have to be a student parent to serve on the board, all we ask is that you feel passionately about supporting the work we do to support students with children. The Board meets at least one time per term and attendance is required. If interested, please Email Us at SSWC@pdx.edu with your contact info. Our next Board Meeting is November 10th from 12:00-2:00.

Join the Multicultural Student Center for a pre-recorded conversation with Sierra McClain-Henry, aka Sankofa Mama Doula. Our conversation centered around the ways in which Black women can empower themselves through the knowledge of their own bodies. We also discuss the rights we hold when encountering healthcare workers, Sierra's relationship to her work as a doula, the future of healthcare, and addressing the impact of the current Black maternal healthcare crisis. Learn more about Sierra on the Sankofa Mama Birth Services website. Special thanks to the Resource Center for Students with Children for their partnership. Questions? contact stacie5@pdx.edu
