The College of Education Partnership Leadership Team, as part of the governance process for the College of Education, works together to advance mutually beneficial partnerships with schools, districts, and other education service providers to support high-quality field placements and experiences for candidates in educator licensure programs. Members of the Partnership Leadership Team have dual responsibilities: to advocate for the needs of their programs and units and to consider the good of the COE and the university in making decisions and recommendations regarding partnership work related to educator licensure programs.
To suggest, develop, and assess COE-wide policies and procedures relating to work in the field for teacher licensure candidates;
To provide a forum for Program Coordinators to discuss program-specific policies and procedures related to placements and partnerships;
To advise the School Partnership Director about strategies for establishing and sustaining mutually beneficial partnerships;
To foster collaboration among teacher licensure programs and related units (e.g., Field Placement Office);
To ensure an appropriate level of alignment in guidelines and implementation related to partnerships and field experiences across the teacher licensure programs; and
To recognize challenges arising from and in district partnerships related to teacher licensure programs and field placements and to seek solutions to them.
