How do you feel about having hearing loss?

My Personal Story
For all of my elementary school years, I was extremely self conscious about my hearing loss despite the fact that I would cover my hearing devices with my long hair. I still knew that my hearing devices were there and my teachers were always wearing my FM system, which obviously benefited me.
From middle school throughout high school, I slowly began to accept my hearing loss. I realized that there were benefits to having a hearing loss like those that Josh has mentioned. Some classmates were even curious to learn and use the FM system!
For the past 3 years in university, I have hardly noticed my hearing loss. I do notice it sometimes when I go out in noisy environments with friends and when my parents start talking too quietly. Other than that, I tell my closest friends about my hearing loss and they are so kind. True friends are willing to repeat anything for you (for the most part). I believe in university/college, everyone wants to be unique and everyone is very accepting of those differences because you are at a new school and meeting lots of new people.
