Ears are the Doorways to our Brain

The brain is very efficient! Different areas process different senses. If one area of the brain is not being used or stimulated, another sense will take over that area. If the auditory part of the brain is not being used or stimulated, vision, for example, may start taking over that area so that we can use our vision sense better. Once taken over, it is difficult for hearing to claim it back.
When we use hearing technology such as hearing aids, cochlear implants or other hearing devices, we are not just helping our ears to hear. We are helping our brains to hear! We actually hear with our brain, not our ears. Our ears are just the doorways to the brain!
Our auditory brain wants to be used all the time! For the auditory brain to develop well, it needs stimulation from hearing technology at least 10 to 12 hours per day. We have also discovered that playing a musical instrument really helps to develop the auditory brain. More to come on that in a future submission!
