Azaan

Hi! My name is Azaan, and I was born with profound hearing loss. I currently have a cochlear implant in my right ear. I graduated from Glenforest Secondary School in June 2019 as a former Peel District School Board student.

During my time at Glenforest, I actively participated in various clubs and earned recognition for my involvement. I was a member of Glenforest DECA, where I competed in the Peel Regionals, and the FIRST Robotics Team, where we achieved 1st place in Regional Championships. Additionally, I participated in the Toronto Brain Bee competition as part of the Neuroscience Team.

Education: I recently graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce in Business Management from the Ted Rogers School of Management at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University), where I studied from 2019 to 2024. I specialized in the Global Management Studies Co-operative Program and completed double minors in Finance and Economics.

Work Experience: I am currently unemployed and actively seeking roles in data analytics, operations, finance, or marketing within a corporate environment.

While pursuing my degree at Toronto Metropolitan University, I completed three work terms as part of the Ted Rogers Co-operative Program. In my first two work terms, I worked as a Business Analyst at the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario. During my third work term, I served as a Supply Chain Analyst at Henkel Canada Corporation.

Amplification: I currently use the Kanso 2 device along with the Phonak Roger On Microphone, Roger Table Mic II, and Mini Mic 2+ Cochlear. These tools assist me in various settings, including school activities such as clubs, lectures, and networking events, as well as group conversations with friends and family. Additionally, I rely on them for work-related tasks, such as participating in business meetings.

Hobbies: I've recently been focusing on staying active by going to the gym and taking walks around the neighborhood to meet friends, family, and family friends outdoors. I also enjoy listening to podcasts, watching movies and TV shows, and playing video games.
