Student Introduction handout. HW: Please complete over the weekend if you did not finish it in class.

Today's classwork: Introduction to "Inductive Reasoning" and forming "data sets" from our observations of world problems. Did you know the United Nations undertook similar activities leading up to the creation of their Millennium Development Goals in the year 2000? They created goals based on these problems to meet by 2015. I wonder if the goals were met? We will continue this lesson on Monday. Stay tuned to find out....

Period B's critical thinking to find the following underpinning patterns in their global concerns:

  • criminal activity impacting safety
  • environmental destruction
  • economic disparities
  • inequality (leading to/from lack of freedom in expressing rights)

Period E collaborated to find that:

  • environmental destruction
  • violence
  • financial inequities and,
  • discrimination

.... were the top root causes (or results) of current world problems today.

Using a paper calendar or one on your phone will help you keep track of dates and projects, just like this one in our classroom. I recommend keeping one like this at the front of your binder and setting reminders in your phone.
