Civics is a course focused on giving students a deep understanding of Canada’s system of government. This includes understanding the roles and responsibilities of each level of government as well as how governments are elected, all of which is done while competing among classmates in an online simulation called Civic Mirror. Students will also be informed of their rights as Canadian citizens and how they can become a more active participant in society. Lastly, the course will involve an overview of human rights violations occurring at a national and global level.
