As we approach the end of the school year we are and have been for several weeks planning for the next academic year.
Our recruitment is completed for this year and our staffing numbers will currently remain the same for the start of the next academic year. Our completion of documentation for incoming teachers is progressing well and we are currently registering them with the MOE.
Our aim for next year is to provide continuity to our students and parents. We have avoided mixing any classes for next year, we believe it is important that our children remain in their friendship groups. This of course means we have some small classes, however many of our year groups will be spending time working together on a daily basis; as a year group the children will work with all the teachers in the year group. The small class size enables our children to stay connected to an individual teacher, this will allow for purposeful intervention and targeted support where required.
With our current staffing levels of teachers and LSAs, we feel we are prepared for the year ahead.
The end of the year is always an incredibly busy time of year, please make sure you stay connected with Seesaw and the the school calendar to ensure you are aware of all the events that are happening over the next couple of weeks.
The Sultanate of Oman always promotes decency and modesty in society as per the teachings of Islamic Sharia. Accordingly, rules have been issued in terms of dress code in public places in Oman.
For awareness, all-locals and expats, men and women, are discouraged from wearing sleeveless shirts and shorts in public places. Women should wear long sleeves, cover wrists and ankles. Men should wear long pants and sleeved shirts. By honoring the dress code, individuals show appreciation for Omani culture and contribute to maintaining harmony within the community.

The PTA organised a wonderful dance for Early Years, Years 1-3 and Years 4-6 which took place yesterday. The children loved the experience of enjoying the dance hall with an illuminated dance floor and party lights, dancing and having fun with friends followed by an ice-cream!
The school halls were decorated by a group of PTA parents who simply did an amazing job! The setting really lifted the event to another level and the faces of excitement as the children entered the hall was testament to this!
May we extend our deepest 'thank you' to Shalini, Candice, Ruth and Preetha! Also to their assistants (daughters, Ruby, Sophie and Shivani : ) Your time given and creativity is very much appreciated.
A huge thank you also to Amber, our PTA Chair for the many extra hours in leading, planning and resourcing the event which was a real end of year treat for the children!

Is your child missing anything?
You can find the Lost and Found right inside the front doors during school hours until Wednesday, 24th June 2025.
Any items left at school over summer break will be donated or if not appropriate, disposed of.
Please note this week was the final week for library sessions in school. No further books will be issued for awareness.
So that we can organise resources for next year, please return all books to school next week, week beginning 15th June. Thank you.
A very cherished teddy bear is missing. It was last seen near the Year 3 and 4 classrooms. It may have accidently been picked up and would make one of our children very happy if it could find its way back to the Year 4 shelves, or if found returned to the school main reception. Please help if you can.
We are thrilled to celebrate Ms Nivine on becoming an official IEYC Trainer assigned by the International Curriculum Association! Her passion, warmth and deep knowledge as our International Early Years Curriculum Lead have already inspired so many. Now, as a qualified trainer, she will be sharing that same energy and expertise with schools around the world.
What an achievement—well done, Ms Nivine!
This week, our Pre-Nursery paleontologists grabbed their magnifying glasses and went on a fossil hunt through the corridor. With sharp eyes and lots of excitement, they searched high and low and were thrilled to discover hidden fossils along the way.
This week in Year 1, we have been thinking about the changes ahead as we get ready for Year 2. We took a lovely trip down memory lane and talked about all the wonderful experiences we have had this year. We reflected on how much we have grown, how independent we have become and how proud we are of everything we have achieved. We are feeling excited and ready for the new challenges that Year 2 has to offer.
Although it’s been a short week in school, Year 3 have certainly made the most of every moment!

This week, we explored a strategy called hexagonal thinking as part of our 'Vanishing Rainforest' IPC unit. Children were given key words like canopy, deforestation, oxygen, and responsibility, and asked to arrange them so that related ideas were touching.
They worked in teams to make connections and explain their choices, developing brilliant thinking and communication skills along the way.
In Maths, we have been developing our knowledge of 2D shapes and names of lines, such as parallel and perpendicular. The children then used this knowledge to create a piece of art in the style of Piet Mondrian.
As part of their 'Go with the Flow' unit, Year 5 researched famous historical events that took place on or around rivers from around the world.

After researching their facts, students creatively retold the events through comic strips, making sure to highlight the key moments clearly. They skilfully used comic strip features such as captions, bold visuals, and speech bubbles to add both clarity and a touch of humour. This engaging activity helped deepen their understanding of the river’s role in history while allowing their artistic and storytelling talents to shine.
