Dear Parents

All of the staff and pupils have worked really hard this year and we are proud of the wonderful learing that the children have taken part in, including the wonderful artwork and musical concerts that have taken place, especially since the lifting of restrictions.

It only remains for us to say farewell to the current P7 children who are moving onto new schools as well as other children who are moving on to destinations new - we wish you all luck in your new ventures! P2 Exit Point - The Circus

Last Thursday P2 showcased their exploration of The Circus with an impressive performance of a student led Circus! The audience of family and friends were dazzled and amazed! Students showed a positive attitude and a tireless effort, as they rehearsed lines and tricks for weeks. We are very proud of their impressive talents and work ethic. Well done P2!

P5 Exit Point - Chocolate

Last Thursday in the Souq, P5 held their final Exit Point. It was a sugary celebration our their Chocolate topic. All the children demonstrated everything their newly learned skills and knowledge, from where chocolate was invented, to the production process and the Fairtrade Foundation. The lucky attendees were also treated some chocolatey treats, designed and made by the children. It was wonderful to see so many parents, brothers and sisters in school.

P7 Leavers Assembly, Graduation and Car Parade

This week saw our P7/Year 6 children coming together to share their memories of PDO School and their hopes for the future. They welcomed their families in to watch class assemblies and listen to fantastic musical performances led by Mr. Gary and Mr. Alex. Following that, and a quick outfit change, they returned to school for their Graduation Ceremony with lots of excitement about future plans and new schools. The staff waved off the pupils in their impressively decorated cars, as they left school and paraded around PDO camp! Well done P7, you have earned a very relaxing summer break and we wish you all the best in your new schools!

Phase 1 Choir June 2022.mp4

Phase 1 Choir Recording

I have thoroughly enjoyed being able to restart the Phase 1 Choir this term and as always, it has been great fun. Unfortunately, we were not able to perform as originally planned, so instead, we recorded a short video of some of the songs learned so far. Despite a reduced size choir, the children did very well and we hope you enjoy their performance. I look forward to the choir developing further next year and some live performances too!

Early Years Fun Days

We have been having lots of fun in Early Years this week, from creating stick puppets to making our own playdough. We've also enjoyed dancing at the disco! It has been a time where we can show off all the independence which we have developed across the year, as well as using our creative skills, finemotor skills and gross motor skills. What a lovely end to the school year!

They loved creating their own playdough and learning about the ingredients.

The children have been using their creativity to make stick puppets.

Phase 1 Fun Days

The children in Phase 1 ended the year on a high note, during the Fun Days on Tuesday and Wednesday. The pupils each had a turn in a variety of activities, such as painting, paper craft, construction challenges and making a mini fruit bowl from plasticine. Not only was this an opportunity to work collaboratively with their friends, but also a chance to visit all the teachers and classrooms in the phase, before they got ready for their well deserved holiday.

Phase 2 Fun Days

The Fun Days on Tuesday and Wednesday were a lovely way to end the year. Phase 2 were split into 3 groups who took part in many diffierent activities. From bridge building to paper cat making, to bug crafting to pop up cards and even a sport activity with Mr. Scott. A great time was had by all.

Phase 3 Fun Days
