P7J Class 2021/22

The final Term of Primary School!!

LEAVERS' assembly countdown

P7J have been working really hard, learning, memorising and practicing for the Leavers' Assembly next Thursday. Tomorrow P7 will be having a full dress rehearsal, presenting the assembly to the P4 - P6 children.

Maths

We have moved onto our new maths topic: Properties of Shapes. This week the children have been exploring angles on a straight line, angles around a point and vertically opposite angles. Acquiring this knowledge will enable them to calculate missing angles.

End of Year Assembly

P7J have been working hard to produce the script for our end of year assembly. The writing has been completed, the pressure is now on the children to learn their lines!

We look forward to seeing you at 12:45 on Thursday 16th June.

English

We are continuing to study 'Wonder' by R.J.Palacio. This week we have been looking at precepts:

noun

  1. 1.
a general rule intended to regulate behaviour or thought.
"the legal precept of being innocent until proven guilty"

The class have made up their own precepts that will help guide them in the future.

Maths

We are coming to the end of our statistics block of work, this week the class have been learning about Pie Charts and the mean average. The children have been finding fractions and percentages of values and using this information to analyse a variety of Pie Charts.

Book Day 2022

Harry Potter, the BFG and a lot of Things!

Assessment Week

Our end of year assessments will start on Monday this week. The children will sit three Maths and three English papers. To help the children do their best please ensure that they get enough sleep.

The final term of the year is going to fly by, after Eid we have our assessment week and then as well as the normal Maths and English lessons we will be preparing for the leavers assembly.

English - Wonder

This term's text is Wonder by R.J.Palacio. Wonder is a fantastic, uplifting story about a boy called August, if you get chance ask your child about it. The blurb on the back reads:

'My name is August.

I won't describe what I look like.

Whatever you're thinking.

It's probably worse.'

Maths - Interpreting line graphs

Our first topic of term three is all about drawing and interpreting line graphs. By the end of the topic the children will have a deeper understanding of how to interpret and generate a variety of different graphs.
